Today, I am thankful for a short nap.
S and I finish bouldering (i.e., we're so tired that we can't make another move on the rocks). I lie, exhausted, on the bouldering pad, sun on my face, wind swirling gently over me. In a few moments, I travel from wide awake reality to a transcendental state in the realm of dreams and meditation.
Bliss. Peace. Relaxation.
I would love to lie here for the next hour. An impossibility, of course. T, curious about what I am doing, plants his cold nose on my cheek, breaking the spell. Startled, I awake.
For this blessing, I am grateful.
