So, while my UCLA Bruins did not make the final pairing in the NCAA Tournament, two very worthy teams did. C'est la vie (for Bruin fans). There's always next season.
For Memphis, victory rested on free throws and precise clock management during the final minute. Sadly, the Tigers failed to execute - just one more successful free throw or a quick foul in the backcourt during the final seconds of regulation play might have cinched the win. Instead, Kansas grabbed the rebound after the missed free throw, took the ball down court, and hit a 3-pointer to tie the score. Then, during overtime, with momentum clearly on their side, the reinvigorated Jayhawks rallied and ultimately prevailed.
T, however, thinks in canine terms when it comes to teams. He thought that Tigers always caught Jayhawks. He's usually right. Just not this time.
For this blessing, I am grateful.
Amen.
