Dear God:
Today, I am thankful for one happy strawberry.
This special feeling towards fruit, its glory and abundance, is I would say universal… We respond to strawberry fields or cherry orchards with a delight that a cabbage patch or even an elegant vegetable garden cannot provoke. ~Jane Grigson
Unbeknownst to me, this strawberry plant accompanied the brunnera that Elsie gave me a few weeks ago. This morning, I noticed the plant and discovered the single berry.
Lucky me - I've found a place in the garden to grow strawberries next year.
