Thursday, 28 April 2005 - Brisk walk on a melancholy sort of day

Dear God:

Today, I am thankful for a brisk walk on a melancholy sort of day.

The weather surprises me: thick shroud of fog and drizzle; visibility of 100 feet or less; cold, damp air - feels like a winter's day straight from the pages of Wuthering Heights.

T and I walk quickly around the park. I wear my red Gortex jacket to keep warm and dry and to add color to the dreary gray landscape. The weather doesn't bother T. He is as happy as ever, walking ahead of me with his trademark "what a great day to be alive" swagger.

For this blessing, I am grateful.

Amen.
