Dear God:
Today, I am thankful for a busy kitchen.
It's quite cold today! The forecast calls for the first hard frost of the season tonight. Brrrrrrr.
To battle the cold, I cook. The oven heats the kitchen and the activity warms my bones. My green chile casserole (made with fresh, locally grown roasted organic chilis) bubbles briskly as it bakes, whetting our appetites with its smoky aroma.
For this blessing, I am grateful.
Amen.
