Dear God:
Today, I am thankful for an important lesson.
Praises for our past triumphs are as feathers to a dead bird. ~Paul Eldridge
Once upon a time, I thought I did exceptional work for this company and that organization. And, in many respects, I probably did.
Now, five-and-a-half years since my last corporate position, my "proudest" business accomplishments seem trivial and unexciting. Yet, they are the stuff of my career story. Fortunately, they are not the stuff of my life story.
One of my most important lessons: I am not my job.
My current challenge: How in the world will my new resume reflect the real me?
For this blessing, I am grateful.
Amen.
