Dear God:
Today, I am thankful for the winter storm that blew in suddenly late this morning.
The storm's unexpected appearance startled me. Because of the warm and dry autumn days we've enjoyed during the past weeks, I've become complacent about the weather. The blizzard reminded me that, as Coloradans who live in the mountains, we are susceptible to all of Mother Nature's whims and fancies.
For this blessing, I am grateful.
Amen.
