Dear God:
Today, I am thankful for persistent prayer.
The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another. The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month.
~Henry Van Dyke, Fisherman's Luck, 1899
Last night, I knew that a nasty blizzard of a winter storm would hit this morning. More winter cold. More snow and ice. Another bout of cabin fever.
Even so, before I went to bed, I prayed for another lovely springlike day so we could take T for a long hike. To no avail.
I will try again tonight.
For this blessing, I am grateful.
Amen.
